*DO YOU ENJOY LIFE?
"10 Reasons Why Life is Worth Enjoying"
There are many distinct reasons why we all enjoy living and experiencing life.
Some people find joy in helping others, while others find fulfillment in learning new skills and trying new things.
For me, several key factors contribute to my overall sense of happiness and well-being.
Below, I will share with you my current reasons for living and enjoying life, and I will also highlight some things I would like to have more of in my life.
I implore you to consider making a list of your own to review and revise how you desire along your journey.
1. Being able to help others: One way to enjoy life is by helping others, i.e., volunteering one's time and resources to organizations that align with their values and goals. For example, I have volunteered as a mentor for the Big Brothers program and donated time to causes I believe in, such as environmental conservation and animal welfare.
2. Experiencing new things and learning new skills: Try new hobbies and activities; learning new skills is a beautiful way to challenge oneself and keep the mind active. For example, I have recently taken up winemaking and started learning a new language.
3. Being surrounded by people I love and care about: Place value on your relationships with friends and family who enjoy spending time with you and support them in any way you can. For example, I try to make an effort to stay in touch with loved ones and to be there for them when they need someone to talk to or when they need help with something, or to send a simple salutation text.
4. Having the ability to impact the world positively: Every person has the power to influence, and I try to use my skills and resources to impact the world positively. For example, I have participated in beach clean-up events and volunteered my time and skills to help organizations that promote social justice and equality.
5. Enjoying the beauty of nature: I find immense joy in spending time in nature and experiencing the beauty of the natural world. To keep motivated, try planned outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and spending time at parks.
6. *Finding and pursuing a fulfilling career: A fulfilling career is integral to living a happy and fulfilling life. I am always looking for opportunities to gain experience and learn in my career.
7. *Feeling healthy and physically strong: Make time to value your physical health and well-being. Find activities that you enjoy and help you feel more vital and energized. For example, I enjoy exercising weekly and eating a healthy diet daily.
8. *Feeling mentally and emotionally fulfilled: Taking care of our mental and emotional well-being is essential, as prioritizing activities that help us feel fulfilled and content is key to preserving autonomy. For example, I enjoy practicing mindfulness and participating in activities that allow me to express myself creatively, such as writing or content creation.
9. *Having the freedom to make choices and control my own life: Value your independence and the freedom to choose your best life options. For example, I enjoy having the freedom to decide where I want to live, what I want to do, and how I want to spend my time.
10. *Feeling connected to something more significant: Find meaning and purpose in feeling connected to something more powerful than the self, whether it be a cause, a community, or a higher power. I achieve this personally by participating in activities that allow me to feel connected to others and contribute to something more significant than the superficial, like writing books and Life Coaching.
Many things in life can bring us joy. My list included being able to help others, being surrounded by people I love, and making a positive impact in the world. But your list may be different altogether; it is about what drives you daily to foster what you consider to be your purpose.
Connecting to something beyond ourselves helps us find function in life. Something greater than ego alone, whether it be a cause, a community, or a higher power, exploring identity can help us find meaning in each experience we encounter.
Overall, these are all things that contribute to my enjoyment of life and that I hope to continue experiencing and having more of in the future. What's yours?
